Joe’s Burgers is non-franchise Portland local burger joint. A lot of people compare their food to California’s popular In&Out Burger. Their menu is simple and straight forward with cooked to order hamburgers, fries, hot dogs, and shakes. All available with cheese and house made chili and the usual soda fountain drinks and hand spun milkshakes. All hamburgers come with caramelized onions and “Joe’s Sauce” which is a lot like a Burgerville’s hamburger sauce similar to thousand island dressing.
This location is a kiosk at Bridgeport Village offering walk-up orders only strictly room only, but seating is within walking distance in the mall’s outside courtyard covered heated gazebo. Food is served old fashioned style wrapped in paper nezzled in brown cardboard boxes.
What I ordered:
Cheeseburger Combo (w/no onions) combo came with fries & a drink for $7.50
The restaurant uses Oregon beef and other local products as available
If you work at the mall they offer a discount to mall employees
They have chili-cheese fries… nuff said
A little pricey for a combo (burger+fries+drink) but they have quick cook to order service & food that is always hot and decent sized.
One CON is I wish the fries were fresh cut, but they are the standard freezer bag shoe strings.
