La Superior is known for their authentic mexican on the North side of Portland and their fresh house made tortillas. The vibe is low key hole in the wall atmosphere. It’s more of a carry-out place seating was limited. Drinks were not listed on the menu so I wasn’t really sure what to order, but on our table was a mini menu with margarita choices. I ordered the original margarita which was refreshing and had enough tequila to taste.
I was a little disappointed about the chips and salsa. Yes they were FREE but the chips were stale and the salsa was extremely chunky and not even a touch of heat.
I ordered the enchilada plate which came with the standard beans & rice and my enchilada which was 3 rolled up chicken tortillas a little larger than the size of taquitos. The green sauce my enchiladas were smothered in was good. It had a just the right amount of heat and was thick not runny. We were not impressed with portion sizes and the flavor overall was just not there.
Ashley ordered the Fajitas which was grilled chicken with onions and green peppers served with fresh tortillas.
Their tortillas are house made, they were soft and had great texture.

We gave La Superior 2 forks because the food was nothing special. We were not impressed with portion sizes and the flavor just wasn’t there.
