I’m gonna be honest I ate here week’s and week’s ago and I almost forgot about this gem till I came across the photo’s the other day. I did not forget however how delicious the food was. Mother’s Bistro is one of Portland’s most popular and well know restaurants. Their delicious homemade dishes inspired from mother’s around the world will leave you coming back for more time after time. Over the year’s they have won numerous awards including “Best in Comfort Food, Lunch Spot and Brunch Spot” by Citysearch, “Restaurant of the Year” by Willamette Week and “America’s Top Restaurant Bargins” by Food & Wine Magazine.
This is the ultimate breakfast spot in my opinion so bring your family and friends to enjoy the delicious flavors of Mother’s Bistro! This restaurant runs like clock work. Every employee did their job and did it well. You could tell this team really had it together. We were there early on a Sunday morning and only waited about 15 minutes. Instead of those annoying restaurant pagers they now send you a text when your table is ready. Fully expect to have some sort of wait anytime you dine here. I’m sure for larger parties reservations are recommended.
Mother’s also has a cute little area called The Velvet Lounge which you can rent out for private events and parties. Just to the right when you walk in you’ll notice the bar and darker colored decor. The bar also offered a pretty tasty happy hour menu which I’m dying to try check it out {HERE}. Happy hour is Tuesday-Friday from 3-6pm.
Chef/Owner Lisa also has a pretty cool program to honor mother’s on a monthly basis. Mother of the Month or M.O.M is what it’s called you can read all about the story M.O.M. {HERE} and check out their current Mother too!
Our dining experience at Mother’s was nothing short of amazing! Our server was so kind and attentive. Our water glasses were never half empty as someone came along often refilling.
Here’s what we ordered:
drink: Ethiopian French Press Coffee
pre-breakfast snack: cinnamon roll
eat: Mike’s scramble & spanish frittata(this item was on the specials menu that day)
Check our their full menu {HERE}.
At the time we dined I was looking quite large at 7 months pregnant and since it was a busy Sunday morning our food was taking a little while to come our server so generously brought us one of their homemade cinnamon rolls(which I highly recommend having at least one or two). This made momma and baby quite happy while we waited for our food.
I gave Mother’s 4 forks for the outstanding service and delicious down home food!
