McMenamins Edgefield is another historic property owned by the McMenamin brothers who together own a chain of 65 brewpubs in Oregon. McMenamins is listed as one of the top 50 largest craft breweries in the U.S. including one of their largest properties known as Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon which has 100+ guest rooms decorated with turn of the century decor and of course McMenamins whimsical artistic touches. One of my favorite things about McMenamins properties is that you can roam and walk the grounds with beer in hand with plenty of free and open things to see and do. The main lodge has multiple surrounding porches with cozy rocking chairs welcome for all even if you are just visiting for the day. Summertime is the best time to visit Edgefield because they host many live concerts that can be heard all over the grounds so if you don’t have a ticket you can still enjoy the entertainment. Summertime at Edgefield is also a very popular wedding destination where they can hold multiple weddings a day at different areas on the property. I have been to a few weddings here myself and they are always a blast and relaxing as a guest.

My friend Laura of Laura Keaton Photography took pictures of my fiance and I for our engagement photos at McMenamins Edgefield. I picked to have our pictures taken here because there is such variety on the property from rustic red brick, flower filled gardens, and rows of grape vineyards. We couldn’t be happier with our photos, Laura captured both our personalities in the pictures from our laid back attitude with our Chuck Taylors and our sophisticated spirit in the open field of grape vineyards. When I first was talking with Laura about there being so many photographers in the industry how do I choose “the right one” for us, and she gave me such great advice which was to pick a photographer that evokes emotion with their photos and best portrays your personalty. As soon as I saw Laura’s work on her Facebook page I knew I made the right decision to have her capture our photos and help us evoke emotion through our pictures.
